FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ
Do I need flightdeck experience to use the flight simulator?
Not at all, the simulator experience is tailored around the needs of each customer regardless of experience or aptitude, whether you are a beginner or a qualified pilot. The session will be conducted with an extensive flight brief beforehand, which gives the instructor an indication of your level of experience prior to commencing the session.
Does the simulator move?
It does not, however the scenery is so realistic that it fools your senses into believing it is moving, I once saw someone standing in the doorway of the flightdeck as we banked, and he grabbed hold of a handrail to steady himself.
Is there an age or height limit?
Although we recommend that clients are 8 years of age or older the ergonomics of our simulator mean that it is not suitable for persons less than 135 cms (53 inches) in height.
All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult over the age of 18.
Is there a height or weight limit?
Because the Flight deck is a genuine scale replica, it may not be suitable for people of certain body dimensions (height or weight).
The space available is compact and if you are in any doubt as to whether you or others will be able to use the simulator, we recommend that you call us before you purchase any of our experiences.
Please note that a degree of physical mobility will be required in order to access the flight deck and take up your seat in the flightdeck.
How many people can I bring with me?
All participants are permitted to bring a guest to share their Flight deck Experience.
The guest can sit in the jump seat which is situated behind the Captain’s seat on the flight deck of the simulator.
All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult over the age of 18.
Unless by prior arrangement our facility at Brighton City Airport is limited to 3 guests and the participant (total of 4 persons) for Health & Safety reasons. If you would like to bring a larger party size this MAY be accommodated with prior approval and MAY incur extra charges, feel free to call us to discuss.
Medical restrictions?
Our simulator may not be suitable for customers with photo sensitive epilepsy, those who have a sensitivity to strobe lighting effects, have back or neck problems and those who are pregnant. Also we have no facility for wheelchair users and people who cannot get themselves into and out of the Pilots seats.
Please see photos to visualise how easy it is to access the pilot’s and co-pilot’s seat. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in good health before booking to use the simulator.
We believe our simulator is suitable for all, however, to ensure the best possible experience for the client we kindly request that we are notified, in advance, if a client is classified as neurodivergent.
If you have any queries about how a medical condition may affect your experience, then please contact our team who will be happy to discuss matters with you. Your Captain on the day reserves the right to prevent flight deck access to anyone in the party – be that the participant or a guest for Health & Safety reasons.
What should I wear?
We recommend loose comfortable smart casual clothing and flat shoes. Though please feel free to wear a pilot’s uniform or similar if you wish for photographs!!!
